Chapter 3.4 – The God and Abandoned Son

In the bible said at 1 Chronicles 16:23-31

23: Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. 24: Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. 25: For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.

In the AIE College, most of the school employees are active Christian’s attending in Victory (church). Victory is an evangelical church based in the Philippines. It is a member of Every Nation, with churches and campus ministries in 69 nations. The first time I went to the church, it was strange, and I’m very curious, people are singing, waving their hands and saying: “Hallelujah”, people are dancing, jumping.

At first, I felt shame. I said to myself: “No I can’t-do this” “it was boring, and I felt weird.” “My God, what these people are doing?” I know nothing about praise and worship.

26: For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

27: Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. 28: Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 29: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

30: Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. 31: Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”

We proclaim how great you are and tell of the wonderful things you have done. (Psalm 75:1)

God is wise and powerful! Praise him forever and ever. (Daniel 2:20)

And I met a man that introduced me to Jesus and the God, we have a one on one discussion. I know how to pray, I know that God exists. But, I don’t know yet everything about him.

He explained to me how to reach God. A picture below shows how to reach God.

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord

Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1st Peter 3:18 – For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

Romans 10:9 – If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9 – For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Acts 2:38 – Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

John 5:24 – “Very truly I tell you; whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

I always went to the Victory Church during my 1st year college days, and at that time I think of another way on how to produce money, I found out that I can make a simple beautiful webpage which I made it for myself for my own project, and my classmates saw it. Then I start selling webpage to my classmates, which cost 100 pesos per page. I sold five web pages to each student that asked a help from me to do their project.

But I didn’t think that our Instructor will notice the web pages that I had made for my classmates. She just noticed that the templates are all with the same format, even though the contents are different.

I was questioned by our Instructor.

She asked me: “Did you do the webpage projects for your classmate”

I answered: “Yes Madam, I cannot deny it, they asked help from me, and I needed money, so I sold webpages for them”.

She replied: “I will not punish you, but I will give 75% grades for your classmates who bought webpages from you.”

I thought it’s my good chance to earn money, and I stop selling webpage for my schoolmates.

There were many times that I attempted to quit at college, but our dean was always there and helped me, mostly he pays my fare ride for a bus from Urdaneta City going back to my Sisters’ house at Santa Barbara.

After 6 months, I thanked God, because I completed my one year in college.

Now I know why we need to praise and worship God.
